The Racing At Wolverhampton Horse Race Tips, Today’s card is a 8 race card on the polytrack..

Race 1: 5:00 – coral.co.uk Handicap – Class 6 – 4yo+(0-65) – 5f

A competetive sprint handicap to start the evening. Holy Angel (IRE) has raced three times at the track, winning in an Apprentice Handicap over 6f last time out, so escapes any penalty and has to be on the shortlist. Shawkantango is a course specialist and has won twice over course and distance, last time was March last year with today’s jockey Joe Fanning in the saddle. Crimson Queen is well handicapped today on a mark of only 65, has strong form on the turf at Bath, winning off 63 over this trip, with a course and distance win here off 57. Of the others Perlachy is of interest having 5 wins over course and distance with the last being at this time last year off 66 with Luke Morris in the saddle – running this evening off 64 he is worth a look. Our selection would have to be Shawkantango.

Race 2: 5:30 – Pick The Best Bookies At bookmakers.co.uk Handicap (Div I) – Class 6 – 4yo+(0-60) – 5f

A competetive 6f handicap. Dorothy’s Dancing (IRE) is a Lingfield specialist who bounced back to form last time out winning under George Baker, she has struggled here at Wolverhampton. Mack’s Sister returns to Wolverhampton where she has yet to win, with her best efforts at Lingfield and Kempton, although her 2nd in November here over course and distance would give her a chance off only 1lb higher mark. Kai won nicely last month off a mark of 53 with Sean Levey in the saddle but struggled last time when up to 58. Of the others George Fenton offers strong track form with a win in October over course and distance off 57, he can be forgiven his run here last time over 7f and it is good to see him dropped back to 6f. Our selection would be an e/w bet on George Fenton.

Race 3: 6:00 – Pick The Best Bookies At bookmakers.co.uk Handicap (Div II) – Class 6 – 4yo+(0-60) – 5f

A wide open handicap and one best to avoid from a betting perspective.

Race 4: 6:30 – Poker At coral.co.uk Median Auction Maiden Stakes – Class 6 – 3-5yo – 5f

An average sprint maiden which should go to Newstead Abbey who makes his polytrack debut this evening after some promising turf runs at York, Newmarket and Ascot. Loulou Vuitton is a course and distance specialist who is solid at this level but is unlikely to trouble the favourite. Hard to oppose Newstead Abbey in this.

Race 5: 7:00 – coral.co.uk Mobile Betting Handicap – Class 5 – 4yo+(0-75) – 1m 5f

A small field for this middle distance handicap. Broxbourne (IRE) won nicely at Lingfield over 1m 5f and incurs an 8lb penalty here today, may be worth opposing at short prices. Tingo In The Tale (IRE) has wins at Lingfield and a 2nd last time out at Kempton behind English Summer who is now rated 82, so has to be taken into account. Epic Storm (IRE) drops back in trip this evening and is running off only 73, his last win was here over course and distance in November. We have to oppose the favourite with Epic Storm.

Race 6: 7:30 – Choose The Right Bookie At bookmakers.co.uk Handicap – Class 4 – 4yo+(0-85) – 1m 4f

A decent class middle distance handicap which sees some proven polytrack performers taking on some newcomers to the surface. Flying Power is consistent over course and distance with 2 wins and 3 places from his last 5 runs seeing him climb in the handicap from 75 up to 84 this evening. Illustrious Forest is another course specialist with a decent win at the start of January off a mark of 71 for that win and is running off 76 this evening, a mark he has yet to win off. Sir Boss (IRE) is of interest with a form line with Illustrious Forest and Flying Power, he always runs his race at the track and is still on a winnable mark with a win off 75 on New Year’s day and placed twice of 80 and 81 since. Sir Boss is the selection.

Race 7: 8:00 – Find The Best Odds At bookmakers.co.uk Median Auction Maiden Stakes – Class 6 – 3-5yo – 1m 1f

Another small field maiden and little to go on with the three horses which have already run producing very little and the market will be the best guide to the three newcomers. Not a race to get involved in from a betting perspective.

Race 8: 8:30 – Pick Today´s Winners At bookmakers.co.uk Handicap – Class 7 – 4yo+(0-50) – 7f

A poor quality Class 7 handicap to finish the evening. Cut the Cackle (IRE) has proved frustrating for a horse who has won off marks as high as 82, but is now running in 0-50 handicap company, has yet to win at Wolverhampton but off only 48 this evening , has to be on the shortlist. Monsieur Pontaven is a course and distance winner off a mark of 50 and has proven consistent at the course and runs off an attractive mark of only 47 this evening. At a price it may be worth siding with Avon Supreme, Luke Morris is booked for the ride and she runs off a mark of 47.
